Fitting
Do your
golf clubs really fit? As part of your educational experience
at the Kostis McCord Learning Center, our staff professionals
will conduct a personalized club fitting. After analyzing
your present equipment, we will find what works best for you
by giving you the opportunity to test several different clubs,
each with different club fitting variables. Then we will make
specific recommendations regarding shaft flex, shaft length,
shaft material, grip size, set make-up, etc. This club fitting
evaluation will give you the knowledge you need to get the
most out of your game.
A player's
swing is as individual as his or her fingerprint. Finding
the right equipment for your swing requires proper fitting.
Titleist's dynamic Custom Fitting System for drivers, irons,
wedges, putters and balls along with a Kostis McCord Learning
Center Professional will allow you to choose the best equipment
for your game.
Myth:
"Tall golfers need extra long clubs."
I
would only add length to the club if that tall golfer is an
exceptional ball striker, because the longer the club, the
more difficult it becomes to hit the ball in the center of
the club face.
Myth:
"Ladies shafts are only good for ladies and mens' shafts
are only good for men."
Shaft
flex and shaft material depend on the player's ball striking
ability, strength, clubhead speed, and ball flight. I would
bet Laura Davies does not use ladies shafts in her clubs.
She is much too strong and generates exceptional clubhead
speed. Ladies shafts would compromise her directional control,
distance control and trajectory control. Likewise, many men
would have a much better chance of curing their slice and
maximizing their distance by using more flexible ladies shafts.
